AYUSH AROGYA MELA was inaugurated by Padmashri Awardee; Gurusevadhureena Dr.V.R.Gowrishankar – C.E.O and Administrative officer of Shringeri Temple, Vidyavachaspati Dr.Vishwa Santosha Bharati Swamiji, Smt. Nagamma Keshavmurthy – Founder of Vanita Samaja and Former Minister, Shri V.M.Shashikumar, Chief Medical Officer of Tapovana Group, Shri E.M. Manjunatha – Sub Editor of Janatha Vani and Chairman Lions Club, Davangere, Shri Sunil, Head of Patanjali, Shri Prakash – Proprietor of Tribhuvan Kalabhavan, Davangere, Shri Sunil – District Head of Patanjali, Davangere were present during this occasion.
The team from Patanjali performed Yoga to begin the AYUSH AROGYA MELA; generic Yoga was performed by hundreds of volunteers from Patanjali and other Yoga enthusiasts.

Eminent Ayurveda Doctor Shri Giridhar Kaje also addressed the audience on the benefits of Ayurveda and Ayurvedic diet. He also addressed the need of Ayurveda in the present day life, its importance, benefits in the longer run and how it is useful compared to the conventional modern medicine.
FREE HEALTH CHECK UP
A free health check-up was organized for all the attendees of the meet who had come to the meet from Davangere, adjoining Taluks and neighbouring districts.
- AYUSH DEPARTMENT from Davangere participated in the AYUSH AROGYA MELA, patients were given free treatment for various ailments. Necessary counselling was given to patients on the benefits of AYUSH form of treatment.
- The AYUSH AROGYA MELA included nearly 50 stalls comprising of various specialisations including Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Siddha and Unani. People visiting these stalls were counselled on the benefits of such holistic medicine in detail by the doctors.
- Some of the main stalls included Namma Homeopathy, Tapovana, AYUSH Department Davangere.
- Free medicines were distributed to those who visited the stalls
- More than 15,000 people were beneficiaries of AYUSH AROGYA MELA
YOGA BY SHRI RAGHAVENDRA PAI
Shri Raghavendra Pai – a well known Yoga practitioner demonstrated various asanas and explained the benefits of each ‘Asana’ in a simple manner. This was aired ‘LIVE’ on AYUSH T.V.
PANEL DISCUSSION ON ‘AYUSH LIFESTYLE’ BY RENOWNED EXPERTS
A panel discussion was one of the key highlights of AYUSH AROGYA MELA. Eminent Doctors from various specialisations spoke on the occasion. Dr.Siddesh – AYUSH Department, Davanagere, Dr.Gangadhara Verma – Chief Medical Officer of Tapovana Yoga and Nature cure Hospital, Dr.Vishwas from Namma Homeopathy participated in the panel discussion.
AYUSH CULTURAL PERFORMANCE
Apart from the speeches from various dignitaries to promote AYUSH; the AYUSH AROGYA MELA also included cultural performances by various ayush colleges to promote AYUSH. These performances aimed at promoting AYUSH form of medicine.
Participants included SDM College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences, Ujire, Tapovana Ayurvedic Medical College, Davangere, SVYASA from Bengaluru and a special performance from the team of ‘Yoganidhi’ Dr.Latha Shekhar from Bengaluru.
DAVANGERE ‘SUPER COOK’ CONTEST
Davangere ‘Super Cook’ contest was one of the key highlights of AYUSH AROGYA MELA. The contest was anchored by comedy actor and noted cook Sihi Kahi Chandru of ‘Bombat Bhojana’ fame. More than 150 entries were received and 10 finalists were selected by Sihi Kahi Chandru and two participants were adjudged winners of this contest. Shri Bhawarlal Arya ji (Rajya Prabhari, Patanjali Yogpeeth, Karnataka) was present on this occasion.
Some of the other competitions included Rangoli contest, Drawing competition, Fancy dress, Super jade, Super meese and Fancy dress.
