Shreshtaru is a movie directed by Thyagaraj based on our Soldiers and Farmers – both of whose contributions are vital for the progress and safety of the country. While our soldiers keep check on our borders irrespective of sun and rain. The farmers dedicates himself for irrigation to feed the rest of them in the country irrespective of the caste and creed consuming his produce.

Both the soldier and farmer have dedicated their lives to the country. What have we done for them  in turn? A question which remains unanswered ! The movie has some great dialogues in North Karnataka style and has a motive to shed the darkness of the society. Rajeshwari has produced the movie, while Ajith has done the camerawork. Mobin paul has composed the music.

ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠರು

ನಮಗಾಗಿ, ನಮ್ಮ ನೆಮ್ಮದಿಗಾಗಿ ಬಿಸಿಲು, ಮಳೆ, ಚಳಿಯನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸದೇ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸೈನಿಕರು ಒಂದು ಕಡೆಯಾದರೆ, ಹಳ್ಳಿದ್ದುಕೊಂಡು, ಬೆವರು ಸುರಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಫಲವನೆಲ್ಲಾ ದಿಲ್ಲಿಯವರೆಗೂ ಉಣಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಅನ್ನದಾತ ರೈತ ಇನ್ನೊಂದೆಡೆ.

ಜಾತಿ,ಮತ, ಕುಲ, ಧರ್ಮವೆನ್ನದೆ ನೆಮ್ಮದಿಯನ್ನು ಹಾಗೂ ಅನ್ನವನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಇವರೀರ್ವರು ಎಲ್ಲರ ಸುಖಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಜೀವವನ್ನೇ ಮೀಸಲಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಅವರಿಗಾಗಿ ನಾವು ಏನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ? ಇದು ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರಲ್ಲೂ ಕಾಡಬೇಕಿರುವ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ.

ಇಂತಹ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯನ್ನಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ತ್ಯಾಗರಾಜರವರು ‘ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠರು’ ಎಂಬ ಕಿರುಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಉತ್ತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಸೊಗಡನ್ನು ಉಣಬಡಿಸಿರುವ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ, ಸಮಾಜದ ಕುರುಡುತನವನ್ನು ಹೋಗಲಾಡಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ರಾರಾಜ್ ಕಂಬೈನ್ಸ್‍ನ ಅಡಿ, ರಾಜೇಶ್ವರಿಯವರ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಡಿ ಬಂದಿರುವ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಅಜಿತ್ ಅವರ ಛಾಯಾಗ್ರಹಣ ಇದೆ. ಮೊಬಿನ್ ಪಾಲ್ ಅವರು ಸಂಗೀತವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
