Maharshi Valmiki, the author of the great Indian epic Ramayana, was a Hindu sage who transforms himself from a dacoit to a sage. In this movie, also titled ‘Valmiki’ – the protagonist is a thief, whose sole job is to steal. Vinu is the hero and has donned the directorial responsibilities of the movie. Ashok.V.Bharadwaj has taken the responsibilities of editing and music direction.
ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಹರ್ಷಿ. ಆರಂಭದ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳ್ಳನಾಗಿದ್ದು ನಂತರದ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ರಾಮಾಯಣ ಎನ್ನುವ ಮಹಾಕಾವ್ಯವನ್ನೇ ರಚಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಒಂದು ಅದ್ಭುತವಾದ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಡಿಬಂದ ಚಿತ್ರವೇ “ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕಿ”.
ವಿನು ಅವರು ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದ ಜೊತೆ ನಟನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೂಡ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅಶೋಕ್.ವಿ ಭಾರಧ್ವಜ್ ಅವರು ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಸಂಗೀತ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಕಲನದ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಯಕ ಒಬ್ಬ ಕಳ್ಳನಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಕದಿಯುವುದೇ ಅವನ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಕಸುಬಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಆತ ಕದ್ದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡವರ ಮುಂದಿನ ಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಏನು ಎಂಬುವುದು ಅವನ ಅರಿವಿಗೆ ಬಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವನ ಮುಂದಿನ ನಡೆಯೇನು ಎನ್ನುವುದೇ ಈ ಕಥೆ.
