Corn also known as Maize is the most popular and widely cultivated cereal grains in the world. Corn contains 73% of water. It is mainly composed of carbohydrate. Corns are rich in fibre, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and has only small amount of proteins and fat.

Sweet corn is a type of maize with high sugar content. Corn is also called as ‘Musukina Jola’ in Kannada, ‘Makkacholam‘ in Tamil, ‘Mokka Jonnalu‘ in Telugu , Bhutta/Makkai/Challi in Hindi. Corn is said to have originated in Mexico and Central America. Though corn is considered as vegetable, it is also considered as whole grain, or fruit, depending on what form you eat.

Ethanol is a type of alcohol that is used as fuel for internal combustion engine. It reduces the oil dependence and green house gas emissions.
